So with Thanksgiving coming up I started thinking about all the things that I take for granted. Here's a list of the things that I'm thankful for:
-Salvation. Trust me, without Christ I am NOTHING.
-Family. Our times together mean more than anything. I am blessed with a family that loves me no matter what. I'm thankful for the scrapbooking time I get with my mom. I'm thankful for the quality times I get to spend with my dad at breakfast and/or watching football. I'm thankful for the laughs that Levi and I share, we are alike in a lot of ways. I'm thankful that Timmy and I get along now and that we have had so many legit conversations recently.
-Friends. New friends, old friends, rekindled friendship; They are all super important to me and I am thankful for them all
-School. As much as I hate writing papers and stuff, I appreciate school more now that I have to pay for it. :)
-My Church(es). Calvary has been there through everything, they are so supportive of the youth and college students. Most of the congregatioin has watched me grow up since we got there when I was 2. Grandview has taken care of me this last year, they are great and I treasure the relationships I have there.
-My pets. Yesterday, I went home to sleep and see my family. I fell asleep on the couch and Ringo curled up at my feet and kept me warm :)
-Sports. Ok so maybe thats a weird thing to be thankful for, but they're a big part of my family's life. We love sports, basically football and baseball. A "normal" summer for me is being at the baseball field at least 3 times a week. We plan our vacations around baseball. It's great.
-Food. Clothes. Shelter. I definitely don't show how much I appreciate these things. In reality, I don't deserve them but I have them and I am so thankful.
There is so much more but if I mentioned everything I would be writing for forever.
Happy Thanksgiving
:)

reason. season. lifetime.
I've been thinking a lot about friendship lately
People these days try so hard to define it
I know things have gotten more coomplicated
Instead of fighting over toys, we fight over boys
But can't it just be like it was in kindergarten
We were friends with the people we got along with and had stuff in common with
Stop trying to define it, just do it
But I have figured out something
Have you ever heard of the saying:
Friends are in your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime
Well you see.. this is how it goes:
1) Reason: Some friends will be there to teach you something. Maybe it will be a bad experience that makes you learn something or maybe it will be a good experience that reminds you of something. You'll probably won't really keep in touch with these people, maybe through Facebook or the occasional high school reunion but not really.
2) Season: Some friends will be there for a while, elementary school, middle school, high school, college, summer, or even in like a bad situation. They are there to stand by you through those tough times but sometimes, it's time to move on and you have to be ok with that. You may actually keep in touch with these people a little better than the "reason" friends
3) Lifetime: Wow, these friends are few and far between but once you find them, hang on to them. Typically, these are probably the ones you meet in college. The ones you have a lot of things in common with. These are the ones you don't have to explain yourself to anymore. Maybe you live with them, or down the hall from them. Maybe you have a lot of classes with them. You all have gotten close faster because you are together more. They know you a lot better in a year and a half than some people have all your life.
So in reality, all these friends are important. I have some of all of them. I am super thankful for my Lifetime friends that I know will be there no matter what. One thing we need to remember though "...There is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." Proverbs 18:24. I hoped this encouraged you, thank your friends randomly for just being awesome

Wednesday. Christmas. In/Out.
I love Wednesdays!!! They are crazy busy but I get to have lunch with Brandy, direct the Christmas musical and see the awesome kids at Grandview. Brandy is always such an encouragement to me. She always has good advice and keeps me down to earth. lol Church, well that's good but nerve-racking but I know that the Christmas musical is going to be great but we have a lot to do between now and December 5th. If you need to take a break from studying for finals, you should come join us. I think it will be a cute performance. Besides that, I love the kids at Grandview, they are great and we help each other a lot! :) Random, but I can't believe this semester is almost over. It has flown by.I have a little over a month until Christmas break! I'm excited about break, I get to see my South Carolina Family and my Minnesota family. My goals over break are to practice guitar a lot, go to Pigeon Forge to do the ZORB attraction, and go snowboarding. Two of those things (ZORB abd snowboarding) are on my bucketlist!!! haha I should post that. Let's see.. Oh, I have to write a paper on my Atlanta trip. I learned so much on that trip. Ok, so really I have to do homework.
Wait, one more thing, if you guys ever read The Clique series you remember the In/Out lists. I think I'm gonna start doing that.
IN:
1)Baked Chicken Tenders
2)Skinny Jeans (still)
3)Getting homework done early
4)Naps!!!
OUT:
1)Fried Chicken Tenders
2) Jeggings (I hate them)
3) Procrastination (even though I still do it on occasion)

Homework. Mrs Jackson. Serve.
I've had all weekend to do homework but guess what I waited until 9:00 to start? Yup, you guessed it.. Homework. So here I sit, after a crazy busy day, doing none other than Jesus in the Gospels. I don't really have anything clever to say today. It was a pretty decent day. I did some community service at Asbury Place today. I met a great woman named Mrs. Jackson. I will be visiting her on a regular basis. She asked me to read Revelation because Jesus is coming soon. While we don't know the day or the hour, we are supposed to be "Dressed Ready". It was a very good reminder that Jesus wants us to be ready but not necessarily wait. Tonight I got to go with my Grandview small group to feed the homeless at "The Master's Table". It was a very humbling experience. I have taken food to the homeless before but I have never served them like we did today. After that I got to go see all my Calvary youth group. We had fun! We always have fun! It was good to see them :) So now that I've procrastinated a little more, I will go back to listening to my Disney Showtunes and reading "Four Portraits, One Jesus"

life, worry, Jesus.
hmm.. Life.. It's fall, we're halfway done with this semester, the Christmas musical I am directing is in 6 weeks (AHH!), working at Wallabies is fun. So that's just a little about my life. Some other things have been on my mind lately:
1) DON'T WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING; PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING. Wednesday I was worn-out. Physically, spiritually and emotionally exhausted but I had no idea why. I felt like I was on a never-ending treadmill. Except for everything was running smoothly, class was fine, church was great, the kids were wonderful. So, why was I feeling like this. For once this semester, I decided to go to the Well and man am I glad I did. James preached on worry. Ding-ding, that is why I felt exhausted. I was worrying about everything: What if I make a C and loose my scholarship? What if I can't find a job when I graduate? What will I do whis summer? What if I don't get an internship next summer? Worry happens when we ask "What if?" and if we have already done everything we can, then what is the point of worry. If we have tried our hardest and given it 110% then stop worrying. If I have tried my hardest in a class on every paper, every test then I don't need to worry about my grade. Luke 21:14 basically tells us that we need to decide before hand not to worry. John 14:27 says Jesus leaves us his peace and last time I checked worry didn't equal peace.
2) WHATEVER YOU DO FOR THE LEAST OF THESE, YOU DO FOR ME (-Jesus). This weekend I had the oppurtunity to go to Atlanta with my Psych class. Besides being ans awesome class bonding experience, we got to hang out with homeless people. We were encouraged to call them 'friends' not homeless people so I will refer to them as friends from now on. One of the friends that I met with Jojo was this man named Clay. He had gone to seminary and just from a series of unfortunate events, he didn't have a home anymore. He was honestly one of the smartest men I have ever met. He knew the Bible backwards and forwards. The thing that confused me is, I thought I was supposed to go minister to them. True, but he ministered to me in ways I could have never expected. I have a different outlook on life now which I should have known all along. It is never about what you have, it is all about who you know and in this case, the WHO is JESUS. We have to know him for our lives to have any significance.
So those are two things that I have been thinking a lot about lately. This week has been crazy but it's almost over :) Weekend=great fun!
